Sharpening Stone, Southern Oregon

Celebrating my 24th birthday at my first primitive skills gathering. A gathering to honor our ancestors and the many moons they have walked.

“We define primitive skills as “First Skills”, the skills practiced and used by our ancestors in daily life. We have found that in the practice of primitive skills, the skills used by our collective ancestors, we strip away the layers disconnecting us from the earth, and begin to form profound authentic relationships to our selves, our community and the natural world.” ~ Laughing Coyote Project

Sharpening Stone was held in the majestic lands of southern Oregon, with rolling hills, vast land, & rivers flowing throughout the property. This gathering was a huge initiation, where I became the dance between life and death. How do you take life in a sacred way, one might ask. If you eat meat, ask yourself, could you take the life of the sacred animal you are consuming?
